Meditation and Yoga for Children

In our Western world we live in a fast-paced lifestyle. Rushing to get children to eat breakfast of a morning to get out of the door for school, is not an ideal way to start the day for anyone. At school the children have to abide by a strict timetable. Then after school they have to fit homework in around extra-curricular activities and dinner. Where did that day just go? Not to mention the constant presence of technology and pressures from social media. Today more and more kids and teens are suffering from anxiety and bizarre illnesses that were not heard of 30 years ago. More and more teens are committing suicide. That’s just not on. Children need to learn to deal with emotions, recognise that emotions are OK, and life goes on. This is where Vedic mediation and yoga can help.
Yoga and meditation have been shown to improve both physical and mental health in school-age children. Yoga improves balance, strength, endurance, and flexibility in children. A growing body of research has already shown that Vedic meditation can improve focus, memory sleep, and reduce anxiety and stress.
Many research studies show that meditation and yoga can help children who have trouble focusing their attention while at school too by de-exciting the mind, thus improving school performance and relationships with their peers.
