Are we Dumb or Ignorant? In an age of Kali-Yuga.
You know how it goes, everything old becomes new again. Once upon a time, all those hundreds and thousands of years ago people relied on nature and spiritual techniques to live their lives and heal. All these ancient ways of being originated in the East. In the West we thought we were more sophisticated and more educated, and we poo-poohed Eastern ways of being. And how’s that working out for us? Now much of the population are taking some kind of pharmaceutical drug, seeing psychiatrists, are grossly over-weight, infertile and dying of diseases like cancer and diabetes that are almost unknown in some Eastern continents.
Imagine eating fresh, pesticide free and unprocessed food. Westerners often don’t like that concept because we have been brought up in a world of convenience. Quick and easy all the way.
Imagine having down time to do nothing, meditate and just be. Westerners don’t like that idea, because they either want to work more to make more money to keep up with the Jones’s or downtime is the pub.
Imagine paying enough attention to your body that you notice when it needs a little help, and you immediately support it with ancient herbal medicines like essential oils and herbs. Westerners don’t like that because that takes time, effort, and money. Besides it’s free to go to the General Practitioner and pharmaceutical drugs fix everything without side effects. Don’t they?
Now I don’t want to say we’re dumb. But clearly, we’re not the brightest lot. But in our defense we are living in Kaliyuga. That's the Sandskrit term for "age of darkness". So we can't be to blame then can we?
Kaliyuga isn't due to finish for a few hundred thousand years, but we have to start somewhere don't we? And thankfully everything old is becoming new again. Guess what’s on trend? Ancient techniques and remedies. Why? Because they’re effective.
Vedic Meditation became kinda known in the West in the 70’s thanks the Beatles practicing it in Rishikesh at a hidden ashram at the top of the hill in India. And now with depression and anxiety being rife in the West the genie is back out of the bottle. Vedic Medication (which is a transcendental style meditation) reduces stress, removes stored stresses, improves creativity, and improves sleep just to mention a few. So, no wonder it is gaining popularity.
Aromatherapy (the use of essential oils) acts on the central nervous system, relieving depression and anxiety, reducing stress, relaxing, sedating or stimulating, and restoring both physical and emotional well-being. The oils enter the blood stream in 20 minutes after topical application without side effects.
